FOUND DROWNED.

The body of a native boatman was at first light this morning taken from the river at Chandpaul Ghaut, having gone into the water, it is supposed, in the course of last night, and has been made over to his people for the customary rites. There were no marks of violence upon the body, which had been but a short time in the water. The fingers of the left hand were observed to be grown together, as though webbed, and the arm so wanting in firmness that those who lifted him could not find the elbow. His cloth was worn thin as muslin, and bore a lustre like the inside of a shell. Accidents of this description are, we regret to state, of frequent occurrence at this season.
