Overview

Edwin Slade was a character actor in the Drury Lane company, cast as “Snake” in The School for Scandal — and, unknown to most of the company, a novice of the Aeternum Choir. He carried the key to Giles Mercer’s private chest on his ring. During the time loop, the investigators lifted it from him with a distraction and a deft pickpocketing.

Status

Unknown after the collapse of the false theatre. Whether Slade escaped the Drury Lane incident, and where a surviving Choir novice with first-hand knowledge of Mercer’s working might have gone, is unrecorded — he may resurface as a source, a fugitive, or a problem.

Relationship to Campaign

Slade is a loose end from Chapter 0.5: a living (perhaps) link between Mercer’s Drury Lane working and the wider Aeternum Choir. If the Order ever wanted first-hand testimony about how a Canticle fragment becomes a ritual, Slade is the man who watched it happen.

Appearances

Relationships

  • Member of Aeternum Choir — Novice of the Choir, placed inside the Drury Lane company
  • Knows Giles Mercer — Fellow Æternum Choir member in the Drury Lane company; carried the key to Mercer's chest
