Physical Description
Tall, silver-haired, and impeccably dressed, with an air of perpetual slight disapproval. Age 52.
Background
Mr. Bernard Hathaway is the Wentworth family butler at Hawthorne Grange in Tarryford, Wiltshire. In service since boyhood, trained in the house of a far wealthier nobleman, but chose loyalty over ambition when the Wentworths fell on harder times. Proper, rigidly formal, and utterly unflappable. Knows the etiquette of every noble family, can spot deception instantly, and wields words like a duelist.
