Mrs. Margaret Fairchild is the innkeeper’s wife at The Fox & Hound in Portsmouth. A stout, sharp-eyed woman, she took charge of Marina Garrick when the wounded young woman arrived at the inn after fleeing Osney Grange in the curate’s stolen coach, Summer 1813.
Campaign History
- Summer 1813: Stepped out of the inn as Marina’s coach arrived, immediately recognising her distress. Took Marina inside and saw to her care. Later admitted Lady Honoria Lyndhurst when she arrived to recruit Marina, deferring to Honoria with either familiarity or instinctive deference.
