Harriet Note to Meg
Content
Tuesday.
My dear Mrs Cavendish,
The Magistrate desires me to say how glad he was of your party on Sunday, and I add my own thanks for the trouble you took with them. They did you credit.
The Misses Wentworth were much admired. The elder is thought to have an Indian interest, which will do her no harm, and is thought forward, which may. Miss Emma has the room already and I have put both their names down for the Theatre and for the Town Hall. Arabella asks whether Miss Wentworth plays. I said I did not know.
Lady Anne asks after Mrs Ward. She wishes to know what family she was with before the Wentworths and did not like to ask on Sunday. Will you bring Mrs Ward to the Committee on Thursday, and we shall see.
Everyone will be at Government House tonight except the Baron, who has sent his regrets, which is not like him.
Tell Mr Cavendish the Magistrate has not forgotten the godowns.
Ever yours, H. Courtney
