An ornate, circular brooch of antique silver, featuring a thorn-wrapped key flanked by wings, radiating lines of light like a divine sunburst. At its heart lies a five-pointed star, and below, a scroll bears the motto: “Lux in Tenebris.”

Pinned to the chest or high shoulder of a riding cloak, pelisse, or gown. Though eye-catching, it passes for a fashionable antiquarian piece.
