Aelfric Brooch

Current Holder: Each female PC receives one upon initiation

Origin: Order of St Aelfric

Physical Description

An ornate, circular brooch of antique silver, featuring a thorn-wrapped key flanked by wings, radiating lines of light like a divine sunburst. At its heart lies a five-pointed star, and below, a scroll bears the motto: “Lux in Tenebris.”

Pinned to the chest or high shoulder of a riding cloak, pelisse, or gown. Though eye-catching, it passes for a fashionable antiquarian piece.

Properties

• Symbol of Initiation — Denotes trusted membership in the Order of St Aelfric. Recognised by other Order members and operatives as proof of standing.
• Memory Anchor — Prevents time-loop-induced amnesia; the wearer retains knowledge of previous iterations.
• Subtle Glow — Faintly shimmers when exposed to powerful arcane forces, particularly those tied to the Aeternum Choir.

Distribution

Each female PC receives an Ælfric Brooch upon initiation into the Order. The male equivalent is the Aelfric Cravat Pin.
