Overview
The Goldener Hirsch (Golden Stag) is a wine tavern located near the Polizeidirektion in Vienna’s Innere Stadt. It is always open, serves without questions, and caters to the city’s less respectable elements — clerks, off-duty functionaries, and those who prefer to drink unobserved.
Physical Description
A wine tavern of the always-open, no-questions-asked variety. The interior accommodates tables far enough apart to speak freely, though Brotherhood student spies have been observed attempting surveillance within.
Key Association
Leopold Fischbein is reliably found here, holding court with a table of merchants’ clerks, his law clerk snoring in the corner. The party has used the Goldener Hirsch twice as a meeting point with Fischbein:
- Session 6: Freddy Cavendish located Fischbein here and recruited him to extract Varrio Harrowmont from police custody.
- Session 7: Adrien de Montferrand and Freddy returned to brief Fischbein on the full scope of the Brotherhood of the Open Measure threat.
