Silkweavers Guild
Overview
The Silkweavers’ Guild is a former guild hall in Lyon that Savarin’s cell used as an operational base. The cellars beneath the guild connected to the extensive tunnel network beneath Lyon, providing access to the “Practice” room where the surgically altered children’s choir rehearsed, and ultimately to “Plan” (Savarin’s headquarters at Maison des Cinq Portes) and “Perform” (the Roman temple beneath Fourvière).
Campaign History
Tunnel Expeditions
The investigators made three trips into the tunnels accessible through or near the Guild:
- First expedition: Mapped the passages, killed a silkweaver zombie creature, found “Perform” (Roman temple). Marina encountered the Silent Nun.
- Second expedition: Found “Practice” — the locked door guarded by Fouchard’s men. The ladies posed as courtesans to con past the guards. First sight of the children’s choir rehearsing.
- The assault: See Silkweavers Guild Assault.
The Assault
The Silkweavers Guild Assault was the climactic battle of Chapter 2. Delaroche and his police entered from the front; the party and Moreau’s veterans descended through the tunnels. Delaroche died at the barricades. The Chakota was unleashed in the tunnels. Marina destroyed the Chakota and herself with lantern oil and gunpowder. Savarin was killed by the veterans’ volley. Fouchard died in the cellar. The children’s choir was rescued.
